Error Messages while uploading images

We receive the following error message while uploading images to the server (all other information are being uploaded but not any images):

the errors mean the folder you are trying to upload to does not have he appropriate permissions.

you will need to edit the persimmons on the upload folder to allow write access.

Thanks for the reply Jason,

I have not changed anything on the server and the folder is set to 0755 which I thought would be fine. I have changed hosts thought for that domain but copied all settings over and they are the same as on the old host server.

755 only allows write access for the owner, use 777.
