Password field - required DA update page - update blank

Password field - required DA update page - update blank

I found this string in another post.

<?php echo ((($_POST["UserPassword"] != ""))?WA_MD5Encryption($_POST["UserPassword"]):$row_WADAusers["UserPassword"]); ?>

I built the admin portion of the site in DA, added an update page, and now want to allow the admin to make other changes, but not require a password reset. Password should be MD5, and not required to submit the form, and not post a NULL entry on form submit.

Have I added this code wrong, or should it be updated?

Thank you

"Have I added this code wrong, or should it be updated?"

no way to tell given the information you have provided.

How did you add this code?

what is the name of the password form element on the page? if it is not "UserPassword" the code for the post will need to be changed accordingly

what is the name of the recordset that populates the page? if it is not WADAusers, the code will need to be adjusted accordingly.

what is the name of the password column in the database" if it is not "UserPassword" the code will need to be adjusted accordingly

<?php echo ((($_POST["FormElementName"] != ""))?WA_MD5Encryption($_POST["FormElementName"]):$row_RecordsetName["PasswordColumnName"]); ?>

Sorry for the lack of info...

The recordset is WADAusers, and I had pasted the wrong string in from my text file where I had changed my field and form element names.

I am opening the Update Record (users) server behavior and in the bindings tab, replacing

<?php echo ((isset($_POST["user_Pword"]))?WA_MD5Encryption($_POST["user_Pword"]):""); ?>

with what should be

<?php echo ((($_POST["user_Pword"] != ""))?WA_MD5Encryption($_POST["user_Pword"]):$row_WADAusers["user_Pword"]); ?>

that looks like it should work as long as the recordset code is before the update record code.
