Date dependent email triggers

I mostly just use UE to trigger emails when a form is submitted, but I have a potential requirement for emails to be triggered depending upon particular dates.

The scenario is where we have a table of users, and a related table of tour itineraries. So any given user can add multiple itineraries. The itineraries have a valid from date and a valid to date.

Would it be possible to trigger an email to the user when the valid to date is reached? We can set it so that the itinerary doesn't appear on the site after the valid to date, but it would be useful if the user could be notified so that they know to take any necessary action.

it would be possible but would require hand coding to implement.

you would need to set up a cron job to run the page on a daily basis. add a recordset to the page, and add an if statement around the UE code to compare the to date to todays date and send the email if they match.

Thanks Jason - I've suggested a simpler, but almost as efficient option is just to have query set up that always lists itineraries due to expire in the next 7 days. I guess the downside is that users need to remember to actually be logging in and looking at stuff.
