HTML Editor Formatting Problem

I have noticed that when adding an HTML Editor area the formatting is off meaning that the label is shown within the toolbar.

I am using a small HTML Editor field using the Basic Style

looking at the source code for that page, there is a missing div.

the source code is:

 Story: *

but should be:

 Story: *

I am not able to reproducce this using Data Bridge 1.1.7, try Deleting the Dreamweaver Cache file from the users configuration folder:

Jason

The code in the bowser and the code in DW are quite different. It appears that the extra DIV tag needed to go prior to the Span that holds the button element. In the browser your suggestion worked, but the edited code in DW caused an error and didn't actually show the expected change in the browser

I will have a go at deleting the cache and seeing if this helps although I had deleted it only a few days ago to try to reduce the amount of times Data Assist was crashing DW.

looks like you placed the closing div inside the validation show if, it should be after the HTML Editor instance

I highlighted that validation show if code by clicking it in the server behaviours panel and ensured that I placed the DIV outside ], but still no joy.

Stopped DW, Deleted MACcacheFile and restarted DW, recreated all the pages from Data Assist and its still the same.

send a copy of the page please.

are you using an application preset? perhaps it is a problem with the preset.

try using the new from blank preset and recreating the settings.

I have attached the three preset files (Design, Form Content and HTML Editor) and also the page for you to look at.

Hopefully you can get to the bottom of this for me as its really frustrating but Im assuming its something I've done as nobody else seems to be having this problem.

Can you reproduce the problem if you use a new preset?

I will try your presets a little later today.

the code for the HTML editor instance is at lines 147 - 169:

<?php
// The initial value to be displayed in the editor.
$CKEditor_initialValue = "".((isset($_GET["invalid"])?ValidatedField("newsupdate","newsStory",false):"".$row_WADAnews["newsStory"]."")) ."";
$CKEditor = new CKEditor();
$CKEditor->basePath = "../../webassist/ckeditor/";
$CKEditor_config = array();
$CKEditor_config["wa_preset_name"] = "Compact";
$CKEditor_config["wa_preset_file"] = "Compact.xml";
$CKEditor_config["width"] = "252px";
$CKEditor_config["height"] = "150px";
$CKEditor_config["skin"] = "kama";
$CKEditor_config["dialog_startupFocusTab"] = false;
$CKEditor_config["fullPage"] = false;
$CKEditor_config["tabSpaces"] = 4;
$CKEditor_config["toolbar"] = array(
array( 'Bold','Italic','-','NumberedList','BulletedList'),
array( 'JustifyLeft','JustifyCenter','JustifyRight','JustifyBlock'));
$CKEditor_config["contentsLangDirection"] = "ltr";
$CKEditor_config["entities"] = false;
$CKEditor_config["pasteFromWordRemoveFontStyles"] = false;
$CKEditor_config["pasteFromWordRemoveStyles"] = false;
$CKEditor->editor("newsStory", $CKEditor_initialValue, $CKEditor_config);
?>

the div should be around that code:

<?php
// The initial value to be displayed in the editor.
$CKEditor_initialValue = "".((isset($_GET["invalid"])?ValidatedField("newsupdate","newsStory",false):"".$row_WADAnews["newsStory"]."")) ."";
$CKEditor = new CKEditor();
$CKEditor->basePath = "../../webassist/ckeditor/";
$CKEditor_config = array();
$CKEditor_config["wa_preset_name"] = "Compact";
$CKEditor_config["wa_preset_file"] = "Compact.xml";
$CKEditor_config["width"] = "252px";
$CKEditor_config["height"] = "150px";
$CKEditor_config["skin"] = "kama";
$CKEditor_config["dialog_startupFocusTab"] = false;
$CKEditor_config["fullPage"] = false;
$CKEditor_config["tabSpaces"] = 4;
$CKEditor_config["toolbar"] = array(
array( 'Bold','Italic','-','NumberedList','BulletedList'),
array( 'JustifyLeft','JustifyCenter','JustifyRight','JustifyBlock'));
$CKEditor_config["contentsLangDirection"] = "ltr";
$CKEditor_config["entities"] = false;
$CKEditor_config["pasteFromWordRemoveFontStyles"] = false;
$CKEditor_config["pasteFromWordRemoveStyles"] = false;
$CKEditor->editor("newsStory", $CKEditor_initialValue, $CKEditor_config);
?>

I am not able to reproduce using the preset you attached. both the insert and update pages are generated buy the Data Assist wizard with the div around the html editor instance.

I tried in both DW CC and CS 6 on Windows 7

Thanks for clarifying where the missing div needed to be placed.

I have no idea why this was happening but I will let you know if this happens again.
