I can not register new users. I am told the "user authentication failed." I have tried registering with several different email addresses and they all fail.

I am trying to purchase a copy of what I am selling to make sure the process works. Instead I get the message: "user authentication failed." I have tried 3 different emails. I can not use ecommerce site this until I am sure this works.

How can this be fixed?

What payment gateway are you using?

Double check that you have the correct information added for connecting to the selected gateway, that error is coming from the connection to the gateway, the gateway is not accepting the user account details you added for processing the transaction

I have it set to Paypal Payment Advanced
Maybe that's the problem.

I have a Paypal account, but maybe I don't have it set-up right? I'm new to this.

I should add I have a Paypal Merchant account

I just changed it to Paypal standard - instead of advanced. I got the API info and it looks like it's ok.


Okay this works, but can a credit card be used? or is this just for Paypal accounts?
