add cart going top page

I have put Add to Cart buttons on a shop page, when selected the page always jumps to the top. I put the anchor fix in which worked great but my customer (my partner) does not want the page to jump at all when the button is pressed - how do I achieve this?

this is the way the browser works, there is not a way around it.

when the add to cart button is pressed the page must reload to run the server side script. it is the page reloading to run the server side code, the redrawing in the client browser that is causing the page to jump.

OK, thanks, may revert to anchor solution.
