server port used Dreamweaver connect database

I am having an issue connecting to the database using Power CMS in Design Extender with Dreamweaver.
What port should be open on the server to connect to the database?

it uses the default port for connecting to the MySQL Database server.

What are the errors you are getting?

An unidentified error has occurred.
For MySQL server, I have tried both the server address and the domain address, both giving the same error.

that error points to a problem with the site definition, specifically the settings for connecting to the testing server.

see the following tutorial for details on setting up the DW Site:

I'm not using a test server. I am connecting directly to update the website.
What is the standard default port #?

regardless of whether the server is used for testing or not, a testing server must be set in the DW Site definition.

if yu are using the live server only, then it needs to be set as both the remote server and the testing server.

the error you are getting has nothing to do with the port, it has to do with the testing server settings in the site definition.

DW uses the testing server that is configured when it makes the database connection. If one is not set up and it is not properly set up, the database connection cannot be made.
