OrderIDs getting overwritten

I know this question has been asked before, but I can seem to locate the thread. When a transaction completes successfully (using Authroize.net), how do I empty the cart and clear the shopping cart session? Users are completing orders, and then processing a second one and it's using the the order ID. This is causing the first OrderID to get overwritten.

add the following code to the checkout success page, after the closing </html> tag, to destroy the session and start a new one.

php:
<?php

// Initialize the session.
// If you are using session_name("something"), don't forget it now!
@session_start();

// Unset all of the session variables.
$_SESSION = array();

// If it's desired to kill the session, also delete the session cookie.
// Note: This will destroy the session, and not just the session data!
if (ini_get("session.use_cookies")) {

$params session_get_cookie_params();
    @
setcookie(session_name(), ''time() - 42000,

$params["path"], $params["domain"],

$params["secure"], $params["httponly"]
    );
}

// Finally, destroy the session.
@session_destroy();
@
session_regenerate_id();
?>

I also remember a bit of code to save off the user credentials so they don't have to login again.

you will need to know the names of the session variables you want to maintain.

after the @session_start(); line, add code to store the sessions in application variables, for example, if the session is named UserID:

$UserName = $_SESSION['UserName'];

Then reset the session after the @session_regenerate_id(); line:
$_SESSION['UserName'] = $UserName;
