MySQL is deprecated on my host server

I understand from some forum posts that WA is working on updating Data Bridge to MySQLi. Is there an updated time frame? I just lost all connections to my sites with MySQL databases, and it's making it really hard for me to work on my sites!

Any work around or suggestions?

Who is your host?

Most hosts will offer a way to choose the php version being used on your site, for example, with 1 and 1 there is an option in the control panel:
http://help.1and1.com/hosting-c37630/linux-c85098/php-c37728/change-the-default-version-of-php-in-the-control-panel-a792330.html

By choosing an earlier PHP version, you would be able to continue using the MySQL library.

We are currently working on eCart 6, that project will probably take a couple more months to finish, once eCart 6 is finished, we will be working on data Bridge, including the update to using MySQLi.

Jaguar PC, I have WHM and can select the version of PHP to run. Which version should I use?

I believe 5.5 is the version that they deprecated the MySQL libraries, so select 5.4 or bellow.

Hi Jason... and if my hosting provider update the server and not allow me to move a previous version of PHP?
All websites created with webassist extensions no longer works?

At this point the MySQL extension is deprecated meaning that it still works, but in the future, it will be removed.

The MySQL library is still available for the host to enable. If they are not giving a previous version option, they should be able to enable the MySQl library for the time being. The Servers error reporting may be set to a level that will show deprecation errors you may have to edit the php.ini file to tell it to hide deprecation errors in the error_reporting setting.

Currently we are working on eCart 6, once that is finished, we will be working on Data Bridge to upgrade the database connections scripts to use the MySQLi library.
