DataAssist Creating Tables for you..

Windows8 64b Dreamweaver CC : When I select <New from Blank> I go to Manage Pages and Setup Fields in Database.. However, I am unable to add any fields: The Form Validation & Field Settings window is not editable.. am I missing a step? Alternatively if I select one of the PRESETS like Product, I am unable to edit anything but LABEL for the fields, I cannot remove any unwanted fields or Add any missing fields.. again, am I missing a step?

The Data Assist wizard does not allow you to add or remove columns from your table, you need to configure the table structure before running the wizard.

on the manage pages tab, when you select which pages to create, you can select the fields from the table that will be displayed on each page.

Not the answer to my question..

Hi Jason, maybe I was not being clear enough.. let me try another way (See screen show attachments)

When you open the wizard, you have a tick box option for WA to create the table for you..

Yet, when you tick that box (in my case I have to do a couple of steps in order for the box to be active) and you go to define the fields you want in your database, I am unable to define any fields..the pop-up window is all greyed out..
so, is this a feature or are they just options that are in the interface but never completed?

You have the New Form Blank application type preset selected.

That Preset type is intended for you to use when using your own table that has already been created, not intended for the Create Table For Me option, since it is a new preset.

if you select one of the other application presets, it will have fields defined for use with that preset.

Tables not created

Hi, what about when you want tables to be created for you?
I ticked the box, They appear in the server behavious and.... when I load the page, there is no tables
What is the step I am missing - the step to actually create the tables on the server?

when creating a database connection in Dreamweaver, it will connect to the server that you have set up as the Testing Server in your site definition.

if you have a local testing server and the site is defined to connect to the local server, the table will be created for you on the Local MySQL Server.

you can use phpMyAdmin or another MySQL GUI tool to export the table structure to a .sql file, then import it to the remote MySQL server.
