Framework theme half works

Framework theme half works

Okay. So I have a template that has been converted to a theme. If I open a page with that template and apply the theme I get a message saying "The template that this document is based on does not allow changes outside of the <html> tag. The change you made will be discarded". And then the code for the theme does not make it into the document (just a blank doc with the template applied). However, if I use the Create Page with Theme, I see the template name and it works fine.

on your login page, you have the following code that is locking the code above the doctype tag:

<!-- InstanceBegin template="/promotables/templates/maintemplate.dwt.php" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="true" -->

you will need to use a text editor to change that to:
<!-- InstanceBegin template="/promotables/templates/maintemplate.dwt.php" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->

to unlock the code above the doctype to prevemnt the error.

Do you have any idea where this piece of code originates from? I don't see it in the template. Is there somewhere I can change it so that it always comes out as false?

Just found out something interesting (and helpful) concerning the ""The template that this document is based on does not allow changes outside of the <html> tag. The change you made will be discarded" error. If the page can't be validated (File/Validate) Dreamweaver will throw up this error. I validated the template file and found two errors. Fixed them and was able to apply the Template and then the Theme to the Security Assist pages. Awesome!
