eCart enters buyer's first name twice into mysql order name

I've got two PayPal Express carts up and running on my site. Everything is working correctly - the PayPal transaction works, the order gets recorded to mysql.

The only problem is that when the confirm page posts the order information to mySql, it enters the buyer's first name twice.

So if my buyer is Joe Blow, his name appears as Joe Joe Blow in mysql.

I checked the value that should be posting in the Store Cart Summary in Database server behavior and it looks like this:

<?php echo (isset($_SESSION['eCartCheckoutForm_shipping_firstname'])?$_SESSION['eCartCheckoutForm_shipping_firstname']:$_SESSION['eCartCheckoutForm_firstname']); ?> <?php echo (isset($_SESSION['eCartCheckoutForm_shipping_lastname'])?$_SESSION['eCartCheckoutForm_shipping_lastname']:$_SESSION['eCartCheckoutForm_lastname']); ?>

The name appears correctly on the confirm page, just not in the database.

This same error is occurring on both of my carts. What am I doing wrong?

i dont see an obvious issue in the code:
I'll need to troubleshoot directly, see the private message section.
