Loosing images

Loosing images

I doubt this has anything to do with data assist but thought I would ask anyway...

I have a site using mysql.
The site has been running previously via .asp and access.mdb
I now have the site using mysql and php and it is running quite well except it seems to loose NEW image field names from the table.
Imported Image field names from the previous web site are not lost just new entries.

I recently noticed new entry images were missing on the internet and manually replaced these via phpmyadmin.
Two days later they are missing again.
The fields are varchar 100 notnull with a default image name which is then over written with the new imagename.
The actual images are not missing from the folder.

Has anyone any suggestions how this may caused or rectified please?
Thanks for any help.
Regards

John

Hello Jason
I am not loosing images. The actual images are in the images folder.

I am loosing the field names that are entered in the table.

eg in a table I may have a field names say image1 image2 image3 etc

The data referring to the image that has been inserted with a new record goes missing, it seem for new records only.

After the field names disappeared from the table I inserted the image field names manually via phpmyadmin Edit Mode and they disappeared again.
Twice I did this.
I did insert a new test record this morning and so far the images appear normally. Be interesting to see if they stick.

so what you mean to say is that the insert is not inserting the file name?

In the insert record behavior, bind the file name column to the WA Uploaded images (File Field name) -> Server File name binding.

you need to use the Data Assist insert record behavior for this.

No Jason
The images and the image field names are inserted correctly.

After some time, I don't know how long at the moment, the image field name gets deleted (lost) so it becomes an empty field.

must be a problem when the record is updated.

this can happen if the record gets updated without uploading a new image.

on the update page, you should have a hidden field that is bound to the image column from the recordset.

in the upload behavior, bind the default file setting to the hidden element.

Thanks Jason
Sounds promising.
I have inserted the hidden images and attach a zip of this. I think this is correct but perhaps you would check.
I wondered creating the hidden images would have any effect with the Update Record Server Behavior. I attach an image of that SB

couple p[robelms:

1) In the update behavior, the image fields are bound to elements that do not exist.

2) There are no image upload fields on the update page.

since there are no image upload fields on the update page, you should not bind the image columns to anything so they will not be updated.

Your not changing anything for the image fields, so don't include them in the update behavior.

Thanks for that advice Jason and in view of that I have also removed the recordID RecNo and the Regdate.
I think that's correct to do.
Can I take it that the hidden image fields are correctly placed?

since you are not updating the images, the hidden fields aren't needed.
