Universal email not sending dynamic email address

Universal email not sending dynamic email address

I've tried several things to get the email to send. When I type the email address into the to field the email sends perfectly. However, when I try to either populate the email address from the database or a post from a text box, the email is not sent. For some reason, it's not recognizing the email address when its populating dynamically. Help is appreciated.!

I dont quite follow.

in the page you have sent the to address is bound to the email text field.

i see you also have a select list on the page that popualtes from a recordset.

are you saying it works when use the text field as the to address and type the email address in, but if you use the select list as the to address it doesnt?

if that is the case, the answer is quite simple.

you select list is set to use the email column from the recordset 3 times in the value:
<option value="<?php echo $row_consignor_lookup['email']; ?>,<?php echo $row_consignor_lookup['email']; ?>,<?php echo $row_consignor_lookup['email']; ?>"><?php echo $row_consignor_lookup['name']; ?></option>

it should be:
<option value="<?php echo $row_consignor_lookup['email']; ?>"><?php echo $row_consignor_lookup['name']; ?></option>

I made the change to the select list. However, the page still does not work correctly. The only time the email when send is when I type a static email address into the (to: cc: or bc: fields) If I type the email address into the textbox that I have on the page it will not send. I'ts like the extension is not recognizing the email address that is typed into the text box labeled "email"

I'll need to troubleshoot directly, see the private message section.

you have 2 separate forms on the page.

one form contains the submit buttons, the other form contains the text fields.

since the text fields are in a different form, they are not included when the form that contains the submit buttons is submitted.

make sure the text fields and submit buttons are in the same form.

i put the submit button and the textbox "email', and the select menu all in the same form. still no luck. Any other suggestions? I also noticed something else that may help with troubleshooting. For some reason the form won't submit when using IE. When I use chrome the form will submit.

the email button is not a submit button, it is a link surrounding a form button element, this will not submit the form:

<a href="receipt.php?consignor_id=&amp;init_date=&amp;report=true"><input name="Button" type="button" id="submit" value="Email"></a>

set the email button to be a submit button with no link:
<input name="Button" type="submit" id="submit" value="Email">

That did the trick! Not sure why I had the link around the button! Must have been late night!!!!

Thx Jason
