DB's Registration Question

I've created user registration pages using DB and the double opt in vid.

Heres' the rub!

Once a user has submitted their registration, but hasn't yet verified, they can still access pages which i have restricted.
The desirable outcome is to only allow verified users access to protected pages.

However, If the user, logs out, then tries to access the same protected page, only then is the login page shown - which of course wont verify unless the verify flag check is true.

(i dont understand why the system thinks the user is logged in after registering)

Have i not followed the tut correctly or is there additional step i need to take to prevent this from happening?

Thanks

one of the rules that the video shows how to configure is a verified user rule.

Use that verified user rule to restrict access to pages in your site instead of the standard logged into your users table rule.
