Turn off Magic Quotes via php.ini

(I am using pinnacle cart)

I created a custom php.ini file with the only line: magic_quotes_gpc = off . The problem is doing this makes the website a blank white page.

I had a problem like this in the past and the support guy said the directory/php.ini is not calling the modules and they need to be added. So he edited the php.ini file to this:

I don't really remember how this worked, or how to modify it for my new website. I have full access to the server, domain, etc (cpanel, ftp..)

5.3.18 is the php version.

Your best bet for help in server issues is going to be to go through your hosting companies support channel.

a blank page means that a php error is occurring but error reporting is turned off.

to turn error reporting on, add the following code at line 1:

once we know what the error is, we will be able to troubleshoot the cause.
