Adding attachments to a form

Are there any security implications by adding the facility to include attachments in a contact form?

If it is a public form, it is best not to save the file to the server using file upload.

in Universal Email, use the submitted file option.

And make sure to use Anti Virus software to scan the attachment before opening it.

Is the submitted file option suitable for a customer to attach an image to their message on the contact us form?

yes, the submitted file option is used when you don't wish to save the file to the server and only attach it to the email.
