Problem Configuring IIS for Vista Premium

I am getting an error message:"The specified executable does not exist on the server."

Here are the steps I took to configure the IIS for Vista Premium:

1. I opened the IIS managerfrom administrative tools in the control panel
2 I chose to open up the Handler Mappings in the IIS area
3. Clicked on Add Script Map
4. I entered the Request Path as *.php, the executable as c:\php\php5isapi.dll
5. Clicked ok and "yes" to allow the php module to run.
(These steps were provided in the Web Development: Before you begin)

It is at this point that I get the error messaage I mentioned. This dll file was located in a subfolder from the PHP folder, so I copied it to the php folder. That did not help. When I did this, it returned another message that said " The specified module required by this handler is not in the modules list. If you are adding a script map handler mapping, the Isapi Module or the Cgi Module must be in the Module list." I have no idea what this means. Can anyone help?

Go to Control Panel -> Programs and features.
Click the link for Turn Windows Features On or Off.
Expand Internet Information Services
Expand World Wide Web Services
Expand Application Development Features.
make sure all options are checked, especially ISAPI Extensions and ISAPI Filters.

Does it matter that I am using a 64 bit laptop?

make sure the phpinfo.php page has been saved to:
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\phpinfo.php

Possible solution

I thought I would add this as a possible solution since after I found this thread I had to search for another hour or so to find what worked for me.

So I just like SonnyRay did all of the steps, but it still didn't work.

What I found is that the problem is if you're on a 64 bit machine you have to set up IIS7 to Enable 32-bit applications.

To do this, in the Internet Information Services Manager:

1) select "Application Pools" (Mine is located in the left file menu of the screen.

2) Then in the middle of the screen Right click on your application pool and select Advanced Settings

3) Then in the Advanced Settings window towards the top where it says "Enable 32-Bit Applications" change it to True.

4) Click OK and then restart the server.

You should now be able to see the php information page (phpinfo.php)
assuming that you have the phpinfo.php file saved into c:\inetpub\wwwroot

I hope this helps anyone else that runs into this problem.

Best Regards,
Blain
