Cant get cart to work & need a link to detail page

Ok.. I followed everything step by step... three times so far
Added the products to the database and used the record sets to make the catalog pages. Added the "Add to cart" buttons, etc and the pagees populate fine and look great!
Created the cart page - seems to be ok.
But - when I test it the items wont add to the cart and the cart page just says "The cart is empty" Did it over and over... same result.

I also created the detail pages - step by step with the tutorial... but have no idea how to link the catalog items to the detail page.

Where can I get this info please.......

Im thinking I missed something that has to do with bindings... but I cant figure it out.

Ive downloaded every tutorial I can find... read everything... tried everything...

First, lets look at the cart problem, the first step is to make sure the server can properly create, save and return session variables. use the session test page from the following thread to test the servers session management:
showpost.php?p=23826&postcount=2

if the session test fails, you will need to contact the host to have them correct the problem, it is most likely a bad setting for the session.save_path in the php.ini file.

for the details page, when you run the data assist wizard, you can select to have a details page created, this will add the details page link on the results page.

it just means you will need to create the details page manually.

the Dreamweaver tutorial for creating a master details page set should get you rolling:

ok thanks again... I appreciate the help

The server test failed... it reset the session from "test" to "NULL"
I put in a request with my server rep for them to look at it...

yeah, if the session test failed, that explains why adding items to the cart is not working. adding to the cart is saving a session variable.

once they correct the problem, the add to cart button should work.
