Dividing Shipping Costs

Hi,

We are developing a website that serves two functions.
1. Visitors can log in and post items that they want to give away.
2. Visitors can log in and search the posted items for things that they may want.

We're trying to figure out the shipping rules that need to to be put in place to pass shipping directly onto the recipient and not involve us.

Currently we have built the database and are able to create a product search, but got tripped up at the shipping.

The URL is: www.theappreciationbox.com

Thanks
Jackie

I'm not sure I understand the question.

The shipping cost would be passed to the person purchasing and not involve you.

I think for something like this, using the USPS Flat Rate shipping method would be best. the person giving the item away would have to determine what USPS Flat rate Box size the item would ship in, when they add the item to the database, they include shipping box size, and/or price. For example 5.60 for a small flat rate box. 12.35 for a medium flat rate box etc.
