I would need a copy of the page in order to see the code to tell why the validation errors are happening.

w3c errors

I have done a reinstall of the webassist extensions which didn't make any difference.
The w3c errors for products_details.php are listed below but there are errors on all the files create by data bridge presets. I did send a message earlier but it didn't show on the forum

required attribute "TYPE" not specified 55
document type does not allow element "STYLE" here 55
end tag for element "HEAD" which is not open 129
document type does not allow element "BODY" here 131
an attribute value literal can occur in an attribute specification list only after a VI delimiter 133
document type does not allow element "DIV" here; missing one of "APPLET", "OBJECT", "MAP", "IFRAME", "BUTTON" start-tag 166
character data is not allowed here 169
an attribute value literal can occur in an attribute specification list only after a VI delimiter 174
NET-enabling start-tag requires SHORTTAG YES 54

I forgot to say the errors from my first message where from product_details.php after the ecart had been added

How are you performing the validation?

Many of the validation errors you are reporting are for a strict doctype.

the page is using the 4.0.1 loose doctype though.

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"

if you try validating this using a different doctype, it will fail.

wc3 errors

I am validating with 4.01 transitional. What should I be validating with there is not a 4.01 loose option in dreamweaver cs6

You don't answer my initial question:

How are you performing the validation?

What steps are you taking to perform the validation?

Sorry

I am performing the validation by opening the file in dreamweaver select 4.01 transitional from the validation setting and press validate

the dreamweaver validator wont properly validate PHP Code, you will need to upload the page to your server, then use the W3C validator on the W3C site to validate the live page.
