phone number comes in as '0' in MySQL Database

Hi All,

I used the super suite to create a form and have the contents emailed to an email address and also have the contents go to a MySQL database. I made the mistake of listing the zip code, age and phone number fields as INT. I changed them to VARCHAR. The zip code will not show any leading '0's. But the worst part is the phone number, which comes through in the email perfectly fine and formatted for the US (xxx)-xxx-xxxx, is coming through into the database as '0'. I have changed the data type to VARCHAR and even TEXT and still it just comes through as '0'. I have contacted the hosting company, who of course disavows andy responsibility as I am using "custom scripting". I dont know if this is a Form Builder error, Data Assist error or a mySQL issue.

My client is driving me crazy, anyone have any suggestions?

you need to edit the insert record and update record behaviors and change the data type for the phone number column to text, it is being treated as a number because that is how the database was originally configured, changing the data type in the database wont change the data type used by the code.

Jason, you are the man. After countless hours of frantic web searching your advice fixed it immediately. Thanks again.

If there is any specific documentation I should be looking at please let me know.
