ERROR: DataAssist Pages

When I select WebAssist/Database/DataAssist Pages, I get two error messages and a blank dialog box.

1st message:
"Error in makePreviews:
TypError: pElm has no properties"

2nd message:
"Error in uiInitialize:
TypeError:
wa.user_interface.preview_array[0].preview_object.cleanUpOld is not a function"

I cannot use the Create Pages wizard.

upgraded to Data Bridge, CS6, Win7
I have deleted the DW cache several times.

What other extensions do you have installed in Dreamweaver, including the version numbers?

Was Data Bridge the last extension installed?

the supper suite extensions should be installed with eCart 1st, the design extender and data bridge last.

install sequence

I believe that my notes from sales were to install them in the opposite order which is what I did (maybe my notes were bad). I will remove the WebAssist extensions and reinstall in this order:
eCart
Design Extender
Data Bridge

thank you, I'll let you know...

Create Pages

Jason,

After reinstalling the extensions in the order you suggested, I am now able to use the "DataAssist Pages" widget.

I have questions about the new widget:

1. How do I match the the style that I used in the previous DataAssist version?
Old Theme -- Design: Modular; Color: Pacifica; Text: Arial;

2. How do I create pages using my existing Dreamweaver template?

3. The new widget does not create a delete page.
Is there a way to create a delete page using the widget?
How can I add fields into the delete message so that the user can confirm that they clicked delete for the correct row in the results view?

1) You would have to modify the CSS after the pages are created to use the properties ofg the older themes.

2) After the pages are created you can apply the template.

3) the wizard does not create a delete page, it adds a delete option to the results and details pages to delete the record, you would need to create a delete page manually if you wanted a dedicated delete page.

Thanks for the answers... I'll work with it...

I missed getting an answer to part of #3:

"How can I add fields into the delete message so that the user can confirm that they clicked delete for the correct row in the results view?"

I'm referring to the pop-up delete dialog...

apply template problem

Hi Jason,

As you suggested, I've trying to work with applying my template to the pages after they are created by the new DataAssist wizard. I can apply the template to the html section of the new page but it does not transfer the PHP code that I have before and after the html tag.

If I add Dreamweaver's template feature <!-- TemplateInfo codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="true" -->, then applying the template will add the PHP from the template but it removes all of the PHP code in these areas that was created by the wizard and locks editing in these areas.

Is there work-around for this? Is there a possibility that the template feature will be put back into the DataAssist widget?

with Dreamweaver templates, you can either add server side behaviors to the template, or you can add server side behaviors to the pages based on the template. you cant do both. this is a limitation to the template engine of Dreamweaver.

the work around is to convert the template to a framework builder theme. There is a tutorial for themes on the DEsign Extender support page.
