PayPal Pro

I need a little clarification as I have not used PayPal Pro before.. I have the eCart setup with PayPal Pro. I am NOT using PayPal checkout express.

Do I need the API credentials to use Pro from PayPal?
Do I need to go into to manager.paypal.com to set anything up?

thx
Eric

Yes, you need API Credentials to use PayPal Payments Pro.

See the "Signing up with the PayPal payment gateway" tutorial on the learning resources page for details:

Thanks!

In the Local Checkout panel for the cart I have the fields:

User
Vendor
Password

The API username goes in User
API password goes in Password

Does the signature code go in Vendor?

thx

Those are fields for PayFlow pro, not for PayPal

So I actually want to be using the payment gateway PayPal Direct Payment?
That allows processing without leaving the site correct?

thx

PayPal Pro is 2 services:

1) PayPal Express Checkout
2) PayPal Direct Payments.

using PayPal pro gives you bot services.
