Template linking

I have a .php template
The template contains a file, header_basic.php containing a WA menu at root level

When I use the template in pages at root level the menu works correctly.

However when I use the template in a page within a folder down one level ie ../MyFolder the menu does display as a graphical item but only as words

I am attaching code from a barebones page within the folder and wonder if anyone can see how to display the graphical face.

It seems the template works only on pages at root level.
I did try changing
<!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/general.dwt.php
to
<!-- InstanceBegin template="../Templates/general.dwt.php but it did not solve the problem

But it did not seem to change anything.
Many thanks
John

I think I have found an answer to this

Instead of including a header file in the template I built the menu within the template and that seems to work.
So will try more tomorrow.

are you adding the header file to the template using require_once()? that would cause the problem since paths will not be changed using require_once(), it is better to just add the menu to the template rather than trying to create a separate page for it.

Thank you Jason
Yes you are exactly right and I will proceed as you say.
