Disable Count for Facebook Like

I have a client that would like to disable the "count" that appears beside the Facebook Like button. The three options are "Standard, Box Count and Button Count" - all of which will show a count.

Is there any way to remove the "count" segmant from the like button?

(FYI: I am using the latest version of Social Media Toolkit from Design Extender)

I have found a solution to this, but when searching for results it has come to my attention that it "may" be in violation to the Facebook terms of use.

Ray (or someone else here at WebAssist): If that is the case, feel free to remove my solution below. I don't want to break any laws :)

Here was my solution:

1: Insert a LIKE button with the ACTION set to LIKE and the Style set to "Button_Count"
2: In the DIV tag that wraps this scripting, I simply added some custom styles. I set the width to be only 47px wide (enough for the button and a little growth space for different languages) and the Overflow to "hidden" so it would not show anything outside of that width.

Here is a sample of my opening DIV tag:

<div class="wasocial_facebook_like" style="width:47px; overflow:hidden">

In english, this shows the LIKE button, but does not display the count beside it.

the only thing i see in the terms of use that looks like it would apply is:

  d. You must not obscure or cover elements of our social plugins, such as the Like button or Like box plugin.

I dont think that applies to the like count, I think it applies to the button itself, the idea being to prohibit you form changing the appearance of the like button to make users more likely to click.
