Disallowed Parent Path

Disallowed Parent Path

We're hosting a website on a shared Windows 2008 Server which does not allow Parent Path references.

When we install Validation Toolkit, although I assume this affects all WA extensions, on a page within a sub-directory within our site the extension automatically installs to the root directory.

This means that the file references:
<!--#include file="../WA_ValidationToolkit/WAVT_Scripts_VB.asp" -->
<!--#include file="../WA_ValidationToolkit/WAVT_ValidatedForm_VB.asp" -->

...produce errors because the include files cannot contain '..' to indicate the parent directory.

Can I just drag and drop the WA_ValidationToolkit directory into the sub-directory and let DW update all the references or will this likely produce an error?

Thank you.

the disallowed parent paths error means that the ../ notation cannot be used to reference file a directory down.

instead use include virtual and site relative paths:
<!--#include virtual="/WA_ValidationToolkit/WAVT_Scripts_VB.asp" -->
<!--#include virtual="/WA_ValidationToolkit/WAVT_ValidatedForm_VB.asp" -->

in your DW Site definition, there is a setting for "Create Links Relative to", if you set this option to Site, DW will use the include virtual code and site relative links for you.
