Retain data in form

Retain data in form

Dear Jason, I've created a form with CCS Form Buider. I've attached the WA Insert Record server behaviour to the form. I've added 'check email' to prevent the user from entering a duplicate email in the database by creating a filtered recordset and I added a server validition called $totalRows_rsCheck_email - and with a bit of cutting and pasting of the php code - it worked and prevented the user from entering a duplicate email.

My questions:
1. How do I inform the user that the email address is already in system without waiting for him to get to the end of the form and pressing the 'register button'.

2. How do I give him a message that the email already exists in the database - the form just remains on the page at the moment. I can't see a place on the 'Insert Record' server behaviour, to redirect the form if it fails.

3. How do I retain the data in the form and prevent the user having to retype all the data again in the fields. I understand that you are supposed to drag over via the binding panel from the WA Valadition Entries, but would this not replace the existing code that is in place. I can't test it because, I can't redirect the page when the user fails to register. register.

you cant, the form has to be sent in order to preform the looup and validation

Use the Validation Show if behavior to show a validation error message

use the Validated Entries binding collection for the initial values of the form elements
