I've never tried to use Google search tool so it's probably something stupid I'm doing. I've redone page several times, once with a result but not a form button, so redid and then it failed.

test page:

searchbase.php

try shoes or jackets

Thanks

Sharing the solution in case it helps someone else.

This is an issue with having "register_globals" turned on in your php.ini
the search object is named "WAGS_custom_search"
and it saves a session variable "WAGS_custom_search"
and with that setting turned on they overwrite each other
I updated the include file to use a different session variable name

This should be corrected in the next update to free tools.

I looked at files and saw a date change on webassist>google>search>object>wa_google_search.php so I am guessing that is the changed file.

And then another question. These were just test pages, and now I need to incorporate into site and replace an older search system. Will the error work itself back in upon recreating a new search set? I do know how to turn off globals in php.ini. Would that change hurt any other php systems on this huge site? Good idea, bad idea?

Thanks again, Jason.

here is and updated copy of the webassist/google/search/object/wa_google_search.php file to correct the problem.

you can use this file in other sites that you create to prevent the problem in the future, it will be corrected in the next update as well.
