shipping local did not calculate

shipping local did not calculate

When placing an order locally, same zip, the USPS shipping calculation was not made. Have you heard of this happening to anyone else? We would like to have the shipping calculated even if it's local. At the same time, we would like an option box so the person can opt for 'Local pick up' so that they don't have to pay shipping. My first question is more urgent, but I wanted to know if for the second, it would be something that would have to be built. Thank you.

The default USPS shipping service "First Class" Wont work if the package is being sent to the same zip code.

i think to be able to zip within the same zip code, you need to use the Parcel service.

Power store does not support a local pickup option, this would require hand coding.

I have it set as "Priority". I double checked and realized the zip is not the same, however, the origin (business) location is a PO Box and the order was made to be delivered within 5 miles from there. So if my client wants to leave it as "Priority" which I think will be the case, everyone ordering locally would get Free shipping?! can't be! I will have to write notes on the website advising that local orders will have to be picked up then. Is there another quick solution? If not, can you advise on ANY type of solution for this? Thank you.
