Setting Up Shop Woes...

Setting Up Shop Woes...

I've been having a variety of issues, from activating a once trialed but never activated account to getting the right SSL in the right place for the right domain. Most everything is fixed at this point, due to the good folk at DH and CC however NOW I am having design issues... :(

Actually I've BEEN having issues but I thought perhaps all the other issues were making things complicated. I think at this point I wish I could erase everything I've tried to do and try again from scratch because the more I try the more screwed up it gets :(

Currently, I am working on my look/feel. I've selected (now a number of) a theme and begun to attempt to customise it. I've used both the slider and I've also tried just entering my own colors with hex codes. I've uploaded pictures, etc (which is another complaint - I really wish they put dimensions some place so I can crop/size my images apporopriately). What seems to happen is that I get pretty far along on my edits and do a save so I can go check it out and the theme completely disappears. WTF???

Its as if the whole system tells me I suck and deletes the custome theme I was working on.

If I go back down to reselect the base theme, my edits are NOT there. Its sometimes still the "selected" theme, but my edits, colors, images - gone.

This last time I finally got it at least somewhat what I wanted and did my save and then popped open the "view store" link. Looked ok, so I decided to do some "live edits" to add in some text to test/check fonts and text colors. I typed out what I wanted, hit save - POOF. Theme GONE.

*cry*.

I seriously don't have the time to spend on doing and redoing this over and over. I've been trying to get SOMETHING setup to start loading product for a week (inbetween "day job", kids and festivals I vend at) and I've got NOTHING to show for it. I've not even started my menu tree because if I can't even get pages setup with correct colors and images, I dont dare try THAT.

I see there is a place for CSS ninjas, which I am not....but I do ok with tweaking pre-done code. Is there an option/place/website where we can get code we like and tweak it - as opposed to using these disappearing themes????
