Can't make a checkout - Help!

i'm trying to use paypal express checkout... and i get an error on check out....

i put the site into test mode and tried and get an error too.... am i missing a step?

the error coming back from paypal is:
Security error Security header is not valid


this means that the API Credentials you have entered are not correct.

that worked, i had to redo the API stuff at paypal site, is that something that changes every so often? that you have to make a new one?

Also, i set up the shipping on paypal end, but its not working.... is there a way to set PS to do shipping based on total amount of cart before taxes, like you can do on paypal?

You can set up shipping in the eCart object panel, you can set the shipping rate to be based on the cart total before taxes.

i've got the tax working thru PS

but its not giving me any shipping, i put the shipping as a base rate of $5.00 and a per item rate of $1.00, thinking it would go to a default of $5 and each additional item would be $1 but i'm getting nothing, i disabled shipping rates in paypal and still nothing.

so where do i find the e-cart object, i'm guessing i find that in dreamweaver? or is it somewhere on the backend of PS and i'm missing it.

or do i need to do a ticket for this... i need to get this up and running :(

Sorry, i missed that this was power store, not eCart.

For power store, you can set up the shipping in the shipping section of the settings tab.

Shipping will not be applied to items that do not have a weight though.

In each of your products, make sure that you have entered a weight so that it will be counted in the shipping.

i got the shipping to work, but not really how it should.

i put the products on 1/2 pound and set up weight limits, because the items will basically be shipping flat rate but will also depend on what size box is needed even though the weight won't matter much....

but no matter what i tried, the "flat rate" and the "per item rate" didn't seem to do anything, whether i had max weight rules applied or not....

so i guess at this point i'm ok, but i won't be in the near future, i need some kind of more control / options, so what are my choices? are there other scripts available to add in or can they be made?

The base and per item rates wont change based on the items in the cart.

If you need to have per item control over the shipping rate, when updating a product you can set a shipping handling cost in the additional settings tab.

i was trying to get away from the weight thing... but i figured out another way to go...
