Unwished item increase in shopping cart when returning to item page

Unwished item increase in shopping cart when returning to item page

Consider the following scenario. A customer has purchased an item so that it is registered in the shopping cart. After that he is visiting another page before returning to the page of the initial purchase, by using the backward function of the browser (normally after resending the page). Now, the shopping cart is updated with one more piece of the initially purchased item. So, from originally only having bought only one item, the customer is ending up with two. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

no, this is the way the back button works.

When the browsers back button is used, it will load the previous action, if that action was to add an item into the cart, the back button will add the item into the cart.

This is a browser function, and not one that can be controlled through code.
