the INSERT is not insertable-into

the INSERT is not insertable-into

Good afternoon,

In a Mysql table I have two fields which I need to concatenate to one field to create a path so that image paths can be found.

Fields are:
image1+imageDirectory concat to Fullpath

I am using a Navicat View and as a test used the code
select `boats`.`RecNo` AS `RecNo`,`boats`.`Manufacturer` AS `Manufacturer`,`boats`.`imagedirectory` AS `imagedirectory`,`boats`.`image1` AS `image1`,concat(`boats`.`imagedirectory`,`boats`.`image1`) AS `FullPath`,`boats`.`RegDate` AS `RegDate` from `boats` this seems to run correctly

In the data assist wizard I created a test insert page (zip attached) but when I try to insert I get an error
The target table fullpath_working2 of the INSERT is not insertable-into

It seems to indicate a View cannot be inserted into.

The View shows in DA Wizard Table List as a table.

Thanks for any help

That is correct, a view is read only.
you cannot insert data into a view.
Views are used to return data, they are one way.
