eCart - Dynamic cart button cannot be selected

I created an eCart object and when I went to the next step to add a cart button, static is selected and I cannot select the Dynamic Add to Cart button? The button is grayed out and can not be selected.

This is the eCart Object Code
<?php
//WA eCart Include
require_once("WA_eCart/AZ_Cart_pg_PHP.php");
?>
<?php
$AZ_Cart_pg->GetContent();
?>
<?php
// WA eCart Redirect
if ($AZ_Cart_pg->redirStr != "") {
header("Location: ".$AZ_Cart_pg->redirStr);
}
?>

Is there a problem in the code? What should I do

The lookup item ID from recordset option will only be enabled if there is a recordset on the page.

You will need to create a recordset to enable the lookup item ID from recordset option.

Dynamic Add cart button

Jason,

Thanks for getting back!

The Getting Started with eCart from WebAssist mentioned nothing about creating a recordset?

How do I create a recordset? Is there a tutorial link that shows me how to do this. This is my first time working with a MySQl server database and eCart.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The getting started guide has the following note
If you intend to create Add to cart buttons that reference your products in a database, you will need to have a Recordset already created on the page you are adding the button to. If this is a product results or product details page created by DataAssist, this will already have been created for you.
just before the instructions for adding the add to cart button.

If you do not have a product database set up, then you can use static add to cart buttons by checking the option for Add Static Item To Cart. Strep 5 of the instructions of adding the add to cart button says the following:

  5. Under Properties, choose whether you want this button to be static, or dynamic.

Add static item to cart: With a static Add to cart button, you will need to specify the details for the product within the Bindings tab of this interface.

Look up item ID from recordset: If you are storing your products in a database (recommended), you will want to select this option so that you can retrieve product prices, descriptions, weight, etc., from the database dynamically.

if you dont have a product database already set up, you can select to use static add to cart buttons.

if you would like to use Dynamic add to cart buttons, you will need a product database.

eCart - Dynamic Cart button NOT pulling data from database table?

Hi Jason,

I followed our instructions and I created an eCart button on a page in Dreamweaver expecting it to pull the sample data from the physical_database provided by WebAssist. My bindings are ID, Name, Short Description, Thumbnail, Quantity, and Price. Only the add to cart button and the quantify of 1. appears on my page in Dreamweaver?

Why is the first line in the database table not showing up? The first line in the sample physical_database is - Item Name (Remix), Item Short Description (A great collection of the hottest tunes) etc. do not appear? What am I doing wrong and what do I need to do to correct this situation.

Do I need to insert additional records?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
tdinetta
