Validation Toolkit not recognizing new HTML5 input types

We are utilizing a few of the new HTML5 input type attrebutes (email, url and tel). Unfortunately, the Validation Toolkit Client Validation Wizard does not recognize these input types and will not display them in the "Form Element" dropdown of Step 3. If I change the input type back to "text", then the Validation Toolkit Client Validation Wizard will again recognize them. I would like to be able to update my forms to the "latest and greatest" but do not want to sacrifice my validations. How do I fix this?
