Error in Form-Editor

Hi there

I have a simple contact form in my site
kontakt.php

After a correction I uploaded the page to the server
and now I can't see the captcha text (only the backgroundpic)?

I have DW CS5.5 and Databridge 1.0.5 installed.

Now I wanted to check my form in DW (Edit form)
an always get an error message (attachment)
"Error Initializing Add Form UI".

Can you help please?
Thank you

Curt

Hi Kurt

The font used in the captcha image was not uploaded to the server.
When trying to load the font directly from your server I get a "File not found" error --> MOM_T___.TTF
Dreamweaver sometimes seems to have problems to ftp all necessary files. Try to upload your font "MOM_T___.TTF".
In case you get an error message, this workaround might help:

  • Make a copy of "MOM_T___.TTF" (press CTRL + D) in DW file list.
  • Rename "Copy_of_MOM_T___.TTF" to "MOM_T___.txt"
  • Upload that file to the server (DW should not have a problem with a "fake" txt-file)
  • On the remote server, change the file extension back to .TTF

The error message in DW (your screenshot) doesn't seem to be related to the missing captcha-font, however you should try to delete the DW-cache-file and reset your workspace.

Hi Willi
thank you for your post.
I cleared cache and workspace in DW >> no improvement :-(

I uploded the font again, but >> no improvement :-(
the path in my site is
MOM_T___.TTF
(also in the sourcecode of th kontakt-page)

The problem is I can't open the FormEditor in DW.

Hi Kurt

Your souce code shows the following path:

<div class="fieldGroup"> <img src="WA_ValidationToolkit/WAVT_CaptchaSecurityImages.php?field=Nehmen_Sie_Kontakt_auf_group_Sicherheitscode&font=Fonts/MOM_T___.TTF" alt="Security Code" class="Captcha" /> </div>

If I try to download that file I get a file not found error. Try to upload the font to that path, too and see if it works ---> Fonts/MOM_T___.TTF
Or change the path to WA_ValidationToolkit/Fonts/MOM_T___.TTF

Hi Willi

I put a Fonts-Folder in root. No change.

Hi Kurt

I see...
What are your read/write settings for the captcha image?

Did you try 755 or 777 for the captcha image? Could be a reason, maybe...

Otherwise, I've seen Jason is around ;-)
I'm sure, he will be able to help you.

Hi Kurt

I've just tried with one of my sites.
Setting (chmod) the rights to 755 or 777 does the trick. 644 does not work.

P.S. I've discovered a typo on your page "Schulung".

You wrote "Inahber einer Kleinst-/Kleinfirma" which should be "Inhaber einer Kleinst-/Kleinfirma"

for the error in Dreamweaver:
Delete the Dreamweaver Cache file from the users configuration folder:
common_installation_issues.php

The font folder seems to be uploaded correctly, so that is not the problem, it may be the GD Library or free type library version

create a new php file and add the following code to it:

php:
<?php phpinfo(); ?>

this will help us see the version of the Free type and GD Libraries.

It also may be a session management issue. Use the session test file from the following thread to test your servers session management:
showpost.php?p=23826&postcount=2

Hi Jason

I uploaded the 2 servertestfiles

php-test.php

and

sessiontest.php

I have deleted the DWcache serveral times
but the error message persists.

Thanks for your help

Kurt
