resizing to square

hi

i have my images resizing fine.
but how can i accomplish getting the thumbnail sizes to be squared?
if i set the thumbnail to be 50x50, i get the right size, but its got white space.
its shrinking the longest side to 50.

i want it to shrink the shortest side to 50 and then crop the longest to be 50.

can this be done?

No, image resizer wont be able to do this, it cant both shrink and crop in the same operation.

ok well is there any way to modify the code to shrink the SHORTEST side instead of the longest side?

Which resize option are you using?

it sounds like you should be using Fit to Box for what you are describing.
