Updating Photos

Hi:

I created a WADA Search sequence that includes an update page and it's all working well. Later I added a photo upload field/behaviour in the data entry page and now I would like WADA to display the photos in the update page while allowing users to update it.

I have no difficulty displaying the photos in the Details and the Delete pages, but WADA doesn't alow me to display photos in the Update page and it deletes any existing photo if users don't upload a new one. Is there any way around this?

Thank you for your attention

There should be no difference displaying the photo on the update page from displaying it on the detail page.

add the image tag, and use the File column binding for the image source.

to retain the original file name on the update page, add a hidden form element. Set the initial value of the hidden form element to use the File Column binding from the recordset on the update page.

in the Upload file behavior, Bind the default File Name setting to the hidden form element.

Thank you for your reply.

No problem displaying the photo in the Update page and the hidden form field does keep WADA from deleting the photo file name, but the upload file behavior doesn't upload a new photo and it keeps the existing photo even if I don't bind the default file to the hidden form field. Why would that be?

Any suggestions?

the problem is that you are using 2 update record behaviors.

The forst one is redirecting to another page before the second one can execute.

You don't need to use 2 update behaviors, you can use only the one for this.

If the First update behavior, bind the Image column to the Server File Variables.

Jason:

Yes. I was using a 2nd Update Record Behavior for an additional Photo Upload Behavior that was patching up the initial problem. BTW, I also had to add an additional Hidden Form Field, etc., for the Thumbnails. Everything is working fine now.

Many thanks for your attention
