Activation error -- Unexpected error 50

Activation error -- Unexpected error 50

Hi, I've got Dreamweaver CS3 installed in a Linux environment, Mint 13 Mate Edition, and I was able get my all my extensions installed and activated from various other 'unnamed' companies, <G>, but when I try to activate my WebAssist extensions I get an Unexpected error 50?
I realize that Linux is not a supported OS for these products and to be honest this is mostly an intellectual exercise to see if it can be done so I'm not expecting any real support, I would just like to know what 'Unexpected error 50' refers to, that way I can see if I can solve the issue on my side.
TIA

My extensions

The error occurs with all of them, I currently use:

DataAssist
Cookies Toolkit
Universal Email
Digital File Pro
SecurityAssist
eCart
iRite
Paypal ecom Toolkit
Tools for Google
Tools for Skype

All are at current vs.
I'm researching this issue at WineHQ which is the win compatibility layer for Linux.
A questions, if it's not to intrusive, are you using an SSL socket to send the validation request?
I suspect it's an SSL issue, because my terminal tells me it can't make a connection to your server when i push the send button, (yes I have a valid serial number in the box <G> before I hit send), the message in terminal is,
"fixme:wininet:NETCON_send not connected"
As I stated in my previous post another companies extensions validated online with no problem and Adobes flash based greeter is working as well (which coincidently uses SSL to connect to Adobe), so I know DW is getting online, any help is appreciated.
