ecart quick display and view cart

once again, i dont know what went wrong, my cart was displaying the correct numbers of items everything worked fine. but now the quick cart ALWAYS displays an item. i clear the item and it clears fine untill go to any page within the site and the cart again shows 1 item.

when i purchase items it now does not add a new item on a new line it increments on the item that is already in the cart.

we are so close to launching our site but now this problem has arised.

i have not touched the ecart object file or anything since my last trouble shoot ticket cos it was working fine. the only thing i have done is created test buttons for purchases and follow through by going to the checkout_success page to confirm the purchase and still it has not dont anything.

please help again.

_TEST

the file requested is attached.

its really weird. when i use internet explorer 9, the quick cart shows 1 item that i listed as a test purchase and it is there forever now even after the button is removed. when using firefox the quick cart doesnt display that bug with IE.

but when purchasing to the view cart in IE the item gets added to one line and auto increments that one item instead of adding a new item. in FF it does the same.
