Validate Password with Number

When I create a registration page. How do I validate the password field to have to include at least 8 characters and 1 must be a number?

I tried using a Regular Expression using this value (?=.*\d)(?=.*[a-z])(?=.*[A-Z])\w{6,} But I kept getting this error message.

Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Unknown modifier '(' in /home/content/01/3827501/html/storydom/webassist/form_validations/wavt_scripts_php.php on line 557

that looks like an ASP regular expresion.

try using this:

php:
/^.*(?=.{8,})(?=.*\d)(?=.*[a-zA-Z]).*$/

(?=.{8,}) = 8 or more characters

(?=.*\d) = at least one number

(?=.*[a-zA-Z]) = at least 1 lower case or upercase letter
