please provide some more specific details on the problem you are having.

Are you getting any errors?

If so what are the errors?

What are the steps you are following?

What is happening when you follow these steps?

how does that differ from what you expect to happen?

errors

I am trying to 'add content to Powercms'

I have set up my connection and it tests successfully. I click finish and I get the error message "Unable to edit db with your provided user credentials." I have write access and can connect to it every other way. Testing server connected properly.

Thanks,

Bchilds

in your Dreamweaver site settings, how is the connection to the testing server defined?

the most common cause of this error is the testing server settings.

In the testing server settings, are you connecting to a local testing server or a remote server through FTP?

make sure that the Web URL and Root Directory settings are set properly.

The web URL should be a full URL to the site on your testing server.

the Root Directory needs to be the path to the directory on the server that matches the Web URL. This settings is especially important if you are connecting to a remote server using FTP. When you log into some FTP Servers, you may be outside of the web root, if this is the case on your server, you need to specify the web root directory.

help

I am connecting through a remote ftp server. I am pretty sure the remote settings are proper as I dont get other errors in dreamweaver.

Root: domain.com/

Web URL: domain.com/

It tests properly but when I try to create a content area I get the error about credentials.

Thanks for your help.

Go To Window -> Files to open the files manager.

in the files manager, change it to connect to the testing server. When it shows the testing server file system, does it show connecting directly to the site files root, or to the a htdocs folder or similar? can you send a screen shot of the testing server file system for inspection.
