How do I solve this little conundrum...?

have a problem with a CMS Case Study page. the insert record page has option to upload up to five images (using Dig File Pro WA Upload). users often only upload one image so four file fields are blank.

when users further update that record using the DA Update page, it fouls up as the Dig File Pro Upload update funcrtions are set to retain the existing file if there is no new one selected. Of course, in the fields where if there was not file selected in the first place it tries to retain a file that doesnt exist and sends error that field cant be null.

is there a way to code the update function so it adds a new file if there is one to upload but just leaves everything as is if there isnt?

Hi

I've not seen this before and I've built dozens of update pages where the file field is left blank.

Can you attach the page so I can see some of the code?

Cheers
Ian

In the hidden elements that are used for the default file, try leaving a space after the recocordset binding for the value.

for example, instead of:

php:
<input name="hiddenField" type="hidden" id="hiddenField" value="<?php echo $row_recordsetName['columnName']; ?>" />

use:

php:
<input name="hiddenField" type="hidden" id="hiddenField" value="<?php echo $row_recordsetName['columnName']; ?> " />
