Greek Characters not showing properly

Greek Characters not showing properly

MySQL is 5.1.x
PHP is 5.2.x

Database & tables collation is set to UTF8_general_ci
Same is mysql connection collation.

As soon as i enter the characters, are shown as various markups.

Checked database and the greek title of the gallery is written properly in the database.
The PowerGallery webpage though does not show it properly. I checked and verified that page shows as UTF-8

Can someone help? Default install, no issues with english characters. Since it is passed in database properly, everything should be fine.

in the admin_gallery/choosegallery.php file, change the following code:

<h2 id="gallery-title-<?php echo $row_gallery['id']; ?>"><?php echo(htmlentities($row_gallery['title'])); ?></h2>

<h2 id="gallery-title-<?php echo $row_gallery['id']; ?>"><?php echo(htmlentities($row_gallery['title'], ENT_QUOTES"UTF-8")); ?></h2>

in the templates/admin.dwt.php file, change:

<div id="currently-editing"><?php echo htmlentities($_SESSION['gallery']['title']); ?></div>

<div id="currently-editing"><?php echo htmlentities($_SESSION['gallery']['title'], ENT_QUOTES"UTF-8"); ?></div>
