Forgot Password Page

I am trying to implement the forgotpassword.php. How do I configure the function WA_SecurityAssist_Email_1_SendMail? It looks like I need to enter values in the Line $WA_MailObject = WA_SecurityAssist_Definition("yourmailserver.yourdomain.com","25","","","","");

What are the parameters it is looking for?

on the server behaviors tab, double click the Security assist email Password server behavior to edit it.

Go to the Email Server section, and enter the correct SMTP Address for sending emails from your host.

Still missing something

Setting the server behaviors helped. When I post the form, it thinks it worked, but no email is received.

I need SSL turned On, is that a parameter?

What is the X-Mailer?

what are you using for the email server and port? who is your host.

in many instances, the server and port can be left blank, or set to localhost and port 25, but the setting to use depends on the host.

X-Mailer is an optional setting. It is the client used to send the email, in your case it would be "PHP [version]" where [version] is the version of PHP running on your host server. but it can be left blank.

My settings

I am using Pair.com

They gave me this info:

Outgoing Server: vqs663.pair.com
Outgoing Port: 465 with SSL on
Outgoing Authentication: On
Username: USER@DOMAIN.COM (where USER is the mailbox username, and "@DOMAIN.COM" is your domain. Remember to include the "@DOMAIN.COM" part of the username)
Password: [your password]

I have been able to setup Outlook to use the mail account, but not the webpage.

Since you need to use authentication, you will need to use the Pear Mail for SMTP mail object.

to use SSL, set the smtp address to:
ssl://vqs663.pair.com

in the pear mail settings, check the option to use authentication.

The only email I can get to work with my provider is formmail.pl. Is there a way to configure the forgot password form to use it?

no, the forgot page cannot use the formail.pl pearl script.

What do you call the type of email the forgot email form uses?

What has to be available from my provider?

the Forgot Password behavior of security assist uses is a php script. It can either use the mail() function of PHP, or it can Use Pear Mail if Pear is installed on the server.
