Verification

Verification

I would like to use the PowerMessanger for what it is actully meant to do..

This is a start of it when someone signs up

'Your email address has not been verified. Email verification may be necessary to access sections of this site.'

So, I will be creating different pages for the user, and only after verifying their email they will be able LOG IN and access to the other pages. At present, email verification means nothing. Because without verifying they can access to account anyway.

What I would like is when they sign up just show this message:
'An email is sent to 'you@yourdomain.com. Please use the link to verify your email and activate your account.' And also have the user at LOGGED OUT status. Once the user clicks on the verification link within the email, they should be then brought to the welcome page and asked to use the login details to enter to their private pages.

Is this possible with PowerMessanger?
Has anyone achieved to do something similar?
Any advice from WebAssist?

....all welcomed and appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think you are confusing Power Messenger with Security Assist.

We have a tutorial for creating a Double Opt in system with Data Bridge on our You Tube page:

Thanks Jason,
I am aware that you have Security Assist. But I thought the Power Messanger can do both. Because when the user signs up they see this message:
'Your email address has not been verified. Email verification may be necessary to access sections of this site.'

This to me and others mean that I cannot go further without verifying my email. And that is how it should be. It this case I can enter any email I make up and access profile page. So what is the email verification actually for in Power Messanger. Because without verification, the user still registers in my database and if they did put in a correct email they will still receive newsletters.

I wanted to use Power Messanger for 2 reasons. 1- register users for newsletters 2- add other pages for users to access only when they login.

So to be able to do what I want to do, I need to purchase Security Assist too. But will it do what I want it to do. Please can you assure me before I purchase. Thanks.

power messenger allows non confirmed email to login to the profile page in order to resend the email confirmation if necessary.

pages can be protected from access to un confirmed users by applying the Email Confirmed access rule using security assist.

you can block unconfirmed users from the mailing groups by adding the condition UserEmailVerified Equal 1 to the audience settings.

Thanks for the information. I have successfully managed to set this up.
