The requested URL /mytest/index.php was not found on this server.

I have a domain mydomaintest.co.uk

The site definition name is mytest
I am using CSS Menu Writer in a Header file which is then used within a template .dwt

I have test page working correctly on my local machine in DW.

When I upload to the remote server the index.php page will open correctly but if I then
select a menu button to the index.php page the page fails and the url becomes
index.php

I cannot see why the extra /mytest/ appears.

Can anyone help please?

Many thanks

John

Thanks Jason,
I seem to have fixed the problem by following the instrauctions on thread
showthread.php?t=13705&highlight=%24WA_remoteRoot
#8

It may be that I have placed the wrong url in the HTTP address on the local info tab in the first place.

I corrected (changed) this entry
Followed your instructions:
The HTTP address on the local info tab is for the Remote address.
the URL Prefix on the Testing Server tab is for the local testing server address.

but I noticed that after carrying out changes on the local info tab no file seemed to to have been updated when carrying out an upload.

I wonder is this normal, seems like you get an initial entry and then cannot modify via DW?

changes to the site definition will not update any of the pages.

The code in the menu is generated when you create the menu, it will inspect the site definition settings to get the local and remote URL values, changing that later on will not have any effect on the code unless you run menu writer again.
