Authenticate user not redirecting

I added 'authenticate user' behavior to my login page. Whatever I type as far as username/password it will not redirect to either success nor failure pages, it simply stays on the same page.

sessions

Also, the session variables are not created.
I deleted the validation and now the page redirects if username and password work and redirects to 'sucess page', i try and display the value of the sessions on that page and they are null, no sessions are created.
This is getting a bit annoying ... hope i can get some help.

make sure when displaying session variables, that you start the session at the top of the page:

php:
<?php @session_start(); ?>

if you continue to have a problem, send a copy of your pages in a zip archive.

validaton not workin

The sessions are now displayed, but still, the validation is not working, and if I add it then the authenticate will not redirect. I evidently need both on the same page. i need to authenticate the user and redirect and also validate the form.

So i need to do this in a certain order ?

The behaviors do not need to be added in a specific order.

send a copy of the page where validation is not working so i can see the code please.

in fact they do need to be in order, the form validation first, then the authentication. Ray from webassist called me and logged this as a bug.
