Name instead of ID in URL

Name instead of ID in URL

For search optimization of the news pages, I like to replace the ID for a name.

For example:

instead of:
news.php?ID=3

something like:
news.php?ID=this-url-is-optimized

Is this possible? Some coding is fine...

Kind regards, Stuward

SEO Friendly URLS is accomplished at the server level not the application level by using mod_rewrite in apache.
